This weekend during Minecon live we get to vote on a new mob.

I personally love the sound of mob B. A flying mob in the overworld that comes out at night and is attracted to players that haven't slept in a bed in a long time.

Minecon Earth just finished.

Mob B won!

There were 3 votes. The mob with the least votes each time was eliminated.

Results:

There were also a lot of details about an upcoming update which is all about the ocean. Here are the details.

There will be "bubble columns" in the ocean.
--Items will float on top of the water, bubble columns will cause them to fall.
--Riding a boat over a bubble column may start to pull the boat down.

Oceans will have different biomes. Warm and cold oceans.
--Coral and kelp in the ocean, in different biomes.
--Different types of fish swimming around
---Catch fish in a bucket to keep, create an aquarium
--Shipwrecks on the ocean floor
--Ice bergs

Trident weapon
--Melee weapon, but also throwable
--Loyalty enchantment makes it return after thrown (MJOLNIR!?)
--Only works underwater and in the rain

Water mechanics changed
--Water flows through fences and over slabs
--It didn't look like it continued for another 7 blocks after dropping down a block

Dolphins!
--Dolphins will help you find ocean treasure
